I feel so useless,
I can't be there
To hold you, console you.

I try to hug you
to hold you close,
but you're not there.

I try to cheer you
with horrible jokes,
but they don't last long.

I try to know you
through a lifeless computer,
but it can't show emotion.

I try to comfort you
as a friend in need,
but all I have are words.

I try to love you
as I would my own family,
though I've never seen you.

Whatever may happen,
however hard it may be,
know that I'm here.

Even when you're alone,
when no one else cares,
I'm there always.

And whenever things go wrong
I'll do what little for you I can
through my useless words.
